“Runway Moms for a Cause” (RMFC) is a fashion fundraising event that is a signature event for Runway for a Cause Foundation, a Maryland nonprofit organization with federal tax-exempt status as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3. Labeled a visual fashion statement for Global Goodwill, RMFC is a runway show for philanthropists to take a stance on an often overlooked issue, and lend a helping hand towards a solution. As part of the Mother’s Day celebrations in the month of May, yearly annual RMFC fundraiser fashion show/mom celebration will take place at local venues donated by sponsors/supporters.
The annual, black tie, event will focuses on “Power Moms” raising funds for small non-profit organizations that have been vetted by Runway For a cause Foundation.
Each year, about 200 guests that are representative of DC’s elite, dignitaries, corporations and global media attend the show. Philanthropic “Power Moms” in the DMV are invited to participate in this initiative, and will grace the runway, adorned in one of- a- kind pieces by L~Shandi Designs. The event program always begins with a cocktail reception followed by live performances and a professional style runway show. In addition to the runway show, there may also be silent auction and raffle drawings throughout the evening.
